Nitric oxide helps with the microbiome within our noses. Mouth breathing lowers nitric oxide levels. When we breathe through our mouths, we bypass these benefits. Chronic mouth breathing is a cause of sleep apnea. If you are mouth breathing during the day, you will be mouth breathing during the night. That leads to snoring.
